hello from Pastor Bill and Cynthia! Along with our children, Khloe and Lukas, we are excited to share the story of how we answered God's call to start a new church in Nutley, NJ.
After over two decades of serving in our church home, we sensed God leading us to step out in faith and follow Him into something new. Though we didn’t fully know what it would look like, we trusted the call. Our first priority was to pause from ministry and rest; to abide in the Lord, spend intentional time with our family, and discern His will for us. During that season, the name Solace was placed on our hearts, inspired by 2 Corinthians 1:3–4, a reminder that God is our comfort so we can bring comfort to others. This scripture has shaped the vision of Solace Church, a place of healing, hope, and transformation where people encounter Jesus, experience healing, and discover purpose. As we stepped out in faith, we began gathering for Bible Study Pop ups. These moments were marked by prayer, vulnerability, and deep, meaningful conversations. After each gathering, people lingered, opening their hearts and sharing stories of grief and loss, a family mourning the tragic loss of their young child, a young woman grieving the passing of her mother, someone navigating the pain of divorce, and another carrying the weight of losing a brother to gun violence. In that same season, we also carried our own grief, leaving our church home to follow God’s call into the unknown. In those moments, we knew God was birthing something special. Solace Church was born. After months of preparation, we launched on November 24, 2024 with an incredible team. Since then, we have seen God move, touching lives, restoring families, and building a community centered on Jesus. Solace Church exists as a place where families can encounter Jesus, experience healing, and discover their purpose. And we’re just getting started.
